Re: General Discussion
I suggest it for neatness, especially since as mentioned people usually post character sheets to the RP OOC itself since most GMs require it. So the folder is probably going to be dominated by faction sheets.
The way I see it, unless you are lazy with your faction sheet and/or especially verbose with your character sheet, it makes sense to put the faction sheets in a folder since they will be longer, and have the character sheets on the OOCs.
It's not a matter of the Valkarr RP being a special snowflake group, it's a matter of pragmatism.
EDIT: In fact, if there is another meta-RP on the site, it would make sense to make a folder for its stuff too....

Re: General Discussion
Still working on my first sheet. I'm trying to make it as detailed as possible (I'm pouring quite a lot into these new guys) and I not so good at getting around to things, so it may take awhile before all three factions are accounted for (I presume, CD, that when you stipulated only three factions, that means more or less only three of the sort of thing we might have submitted on RG).
I like the name Valkar.

Re: General Discussion
I'm glad your going for detail Val, but if you are pressed for time or something like that, perhaps you should focus on one for now and enter the others later.
Three factions, one of each alignment in the rules (good, evil, neutral). The faction can be one that you used before, or not provided its a spacefaring faction.
Mine is either neutral or evil, I haven't necessarily decided yet.

Re: General Discussion
The problem is, for the stories and stuff and history that I have in mind, the three factions are all more or less connected to each other, so it makes things better if I release them as close to each other as possible. I'll try to be fast.

Don't worry about being fast, be thorough. Really we need a few more people to join anyway before things can really kick off

Re: General Discussion
Well, a 'factions and worlds' section can be made, then, although the question is if 'worlds' doesn't overlap with source material comes to mind.
I guess I'll make one, then, but that's three sub-sections. I think that should be sufficient.
At any rate, found out the wisdom tooth extraction is also on Monday, they omitted telling me that they do it immediately after the consult. I'll be spending the next few days recovering from surgery, so I'll need to work on stuff in my spare time.
If anyone has ideas for the portal RP, say so now, because I'm going to begin working on it while I'm not stuck on pain meds or half-mad with sore gums (Not that it's major, but I have a low tolerance for pain so people might prefer not to talk to me then, since I'll probably make a bigger deal of how it feels than it really is).

Re: General Discussion
Well could you just rename the current character sheets section to faction sheets? That's where the faction sheets have been going...

Good luck with the extraction. Hopefully the recovery won't take too long
I think I got all my ideas out

Anyone care to share either a character or faction idea they have?

Very nice. I'm not looking forward to school starting up again
Also how is your mouth doing Vipera? Have you recovered from your surgery yet?

Re: General Discussion
Actually, what wound up happening was that the people who were supposed to organize my surgery in the office got 'Christmas-itis' and kinda goofed on certain bits of paperwork. They were supposed to start me on an antibacterial rinse and antibiotic pills two days before the surgery, so we wound up only doing a consult initially on Monday.
That in mind, the surgery actually happened this morning, and I can't help but think that I made a few people laugh the way I tend to respond to stuff. They gave me a mild dose of laughing gas before putting me under because I was freaking out somewhat when they started putting the oxygen mask on my nose and sticking sensors all over me. I kind of just sat there and started getting the effects of the actual anesthesia, and I think I said something along the lines of 'Yep, getting hard to talk, not gonna remember anything." And then I just kinda fell asleep. When I woke up I couldn't stop shivering because the IV drip lowered my temperature a great deal, but I've recovered from that by now.
Now I'm feeling pretty well, but I'm guessing that's because the numbing agent has hardly worn off even after several hours. I have to drink water because I don't handle dehydration well, but it seems like every time I try that I'm making the spots bleed again. I also can't really eat very much, but the good news is that I'm still able to function...though talking is very difficult, as is swallowing.
Overall, wasn't really so bad, and the doctor was pretty optimistic since he mentioned that he didn't see any sinus pockets or nerves. Whole process took less than an hour.

As long as you don't get dry socket, you should heal in a few days. Glad to hear it went well though

Re: General Discussion
Yep. I was right to think the right side of my face was worse. The majority of the swelling on the left side of my face is almost nonexistent by now, but because the teeth on my right side were a little worse, I'm dealing with more issues, and I kinda figured that out when I saw the X-rays, even though I'm not a doctor. I'm even eating ice cream when I wouldn't normally do that because it really helps bring down the swelling.
At any rate, I think I can be optimistic about this. The anesthesia has worn off by now but I haven't had to take anything other than ibuprofen, bringing down the swelling also stops the majority of any pain that I might have felt (most pain is because of swelling, other than that the corners of my jaw are stiff, but that's not really painful), so really, it looks like I won't need to use any of the high-power painkillers they gave me just in case. I have to avoid hot foods and eat soft stuff, but I might be running around as soon as tomorrow.

Kinda just sitting here. Now it hurts, I'm wishing there was something akin to an electric blanket for your face, because warm compresses cool pretty fast.
Happy New Year, though. Hopefully we'll have some good stuff happen, for a change.

I hope to work on RP stuff, just a little lazy at the moment, but let's hope that changes. As you see, I now have an Avatar. It'll be a placeholder until I spiff it up.
